i probably will be thinking about this movie for sometime; not so much for the content (however horrifying it was) but more because of the amazing cinematography and the deeply rooted metaphors that consistently trace themselves throughout the film. so much going on in that subtext (i think one could really write quite a lengthy critical investigation regarding the ways in which lacan’s mirror stage is completely inverted in this film…perhaps i will!). not to mention that tilda swinton is as bracing as ever. what a face; what dreams i had last night…
go see the movie. let’s talk about it.
